THE ARCHITECTURE OF LIGHT

In The Architecture of Light,  I explore the phenomenology of light and the hidden architecture it reveals within our cities. Each piece is rooted in a contemplative, embodied practice of walking through urban spaces and looking closely to observe how subtle shifts in light and atmosphere transform the familiar into the unexpected. By focusing on the immediate visual experience, I attempt to quiet the analytical mind and instead respond to the world as a harmony of form, light, and color. This approach allows me to let go of the labels we typically place on our environment and instead focus on the raw quality of what is actually being seen.

While a photograph captures a static moment with uniform sharpness, my work reflects the way we truly experience reality through a shifting focal point. I intentionally balance areas of clarity with softer, more suggestive passages to create a sense of quietude and space. These ambiguous shapes of light and shadow are meant to invite the viewer into the scene, providing an opportunity for the imagination to take the work in its own direction. I believe that powerful paintings pose questions rather than providing specific answers. By leaving room for interpretation, the work remains open and allows for a different experience each time it is viewed.

In a world driven by technological progress and facing increased uncertainty, these scenes serve as a reminder of the vitality of our lived experience, capturing moments of connection with the aspects of life that provide strength and inspiration.
